The first stop is Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew). Admire the beauty of fine arts and architecture of the residence of former Thai kings and pay respect to the Emerald Buddha.

Canal Tour. Located just across the Chao Phraya river is what once was the capitol of Siam - Thonburi. Still considered part of Bangkok, Thonburi is the peaceful, calm and cool side of the river. The traditional Thai way of living on the canal still exists here and you can still see the floating vendors, farms and homes as you cruise through the canal, making your way to the various sites.

Next on to Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). Gigantic works of art like the Reclining Buddha and the pagodas aside, Wat Pho is also Thailand's oldest temple and the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. Check out the hermit statues around Wat Pho to see some techniques.

Our Next stop is Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). Walk up Wat Arun's iconic prang (Khmer-style tower) and see the beautiful decorations from up close.

Finally a trip to China Town market. Packed with market stalls, street-side restaurants and a dense concentration of shops, Chinatown is an experience not to miss. See the food cooked in front of you, taste and try as you please. You can experience the freshest dishes and the most exotic flavors prepared in both modern and traditional ways. Basically it’s the complete opposite of the Bangkok skyline, we’re all used to seeing. There are no skyscrapers, no rooftop bars and definitely no hustle and bustle that we all expect from modern Bangkok. The traditional Thai way of living on the canal still exists here and you can still see the floating vendors, farms and homes as you cruise through the canal, making your way to the various sites.

By taking a longtail boat along the waterways, you will still be able to catch a few glimpses of the old Thai way of life. Definitely, it is one of the best ways to experience the local culture, history, and of course, a fun way to spend some time in Thailand.
